<Recruiting Guidlines>
Do you have friends or family that are looking for a community to play with? Want to bring them into IoN? Here's some basic guidelines.
-
Question and Answer session: Get to know the recruit, explain to them what IoN is all about. Give them a hook to bite onto. Also check and be sure that they meet your squard's age requirement set by your respective General.
-
Read the Code of Conduct for your squad's game. Try not to make it sound dry and answer any questions the recruit asks. Should a recruit blatently disagree to the Code of Conduct, that person cannot be recruited. You can ask them why the rule they disagree with exists in an attempt to change their mind. If they continue to refuse, thank them for their interest in IoN and explain that the CoC is core to IoN and back out of the party.
-
Once the recruit accepts the CoC, have them set their privacy to "Everyone" so that people in IoN can see their motto/bio (for those that may not be friends of the recruit). Exceptions to this can be made by the squad's General.
-
After the recruit's motto and bio are visiable they should set their motto to the following format:
-
ION <Squad Name> <Rank>
-
-
The bio should be of the following format where RB is Recruited By and RC is Recruitment Count:
-
RB: <Recruiter> <Recruitment Date> www.ionhq.net RC: 0
-
-
Have the recruit send a friend request to the Gen Tag so that they can get squad updates and practice scedules.
-
Once the motto and bio are set and they have sent a friend request to the Gen Tag, have them register on the IoN site here. Walk them through the website and explain the pages to them if you can. Ranking up within the squard requires registration to the site.
-
Teach the recruit about the practices and the practice schedule for your squad. Encourage them to play with squadmates as well as other members of IoN if they share a similar game platform.
-
If the recruit has not asked about the ranking structure, inform them. Let them know about the Chain of Command and how to get promoted.
-
Stick with your recruit for a bit, play with them for awhile, bring them to practice. Since they are your recruit, you are their sponser to the rest of the squad. Give them pointers on the squad, help them avoid the squad faux paux that you may have fallen into or have seen.
-
Finally, send a message to everyone in the Gen Tag notifying them so that they can start interacting with the recruit.
